If you are planning a Halloween theme wedding than obviously you adore Halloween, but do remember it is still a wedding not a big Halloween bash. This means opt for elegance over cheesiness.
Don't worry you can still make it frightful while keeping it fabulous. Here's how.
Remember these words- simple, spooky, surprising and understated.
The Wedding Gown
Want to wow? Then consider a gorgeous Goth gown in black. If you want a more traditional white gown you can still opt for a few splashes of dark color because the newest wedding gown styles have black trim, sashes or other colored accessories- even blood red.
Fab and Funky Formal Wear
Bridesmaids will look Halloweenolicous in elegant black, red or dark colored gowns while the guys can look fabulously formal in top hats and tails or spooktacular in undertaker style swallowtail coats.
Get fab with the accessories by adding Goth jewelry accents, Victorian cameo chokers, lacey shawls, or sheer scarves.
Bold Colors
Go bold with color for your Halloween wedding. Opt for red and black, purple and black or even the traditional Halloween colors of orange and black for your frightfully fabulous Halloween wedding color scheme.

Halloween Inspired Menu
Serve a menu rich in the flavors of fall- squash, pumpkins, corn, roast turkey or chicken, and apples. Pumpkin soup, salad with roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin cheesecake, pumpkin muffins, apple cider, apple spice cake, and apple flavored pork chops are just a few menu options.

If you are in the New York City, New Jersey, or the Pennsylvania area and want a gorgeous Halloween wedding cake you have to check out the Pink Cake Box bakery. They make the most awesome cakes ever; you should see their Corpse Bride Cake and the beautiful and classy red, white and black cakes.
Delightfully Frightful Drinks
The bar is where you can have a lot of fun with your Halloween theme by serving drinks with fun names Pumpkin Martinis, Bloody Maries, and Black Cats or how about MarthaStewart.com's Halloween Sunset Cocktail, Spooky Halloween Spirits or the Bleeding Heart Martini.
There's also Fall flavors to consider like apple martinis and other apple flavored cocktails.
Haunted Halloween Photo Display
One of the hottest elements in weddings right now is the guest photo booth. This is a place where all your guests go to get their photos taken.
You can create a fun photo booth by including masks and costume accessories like hats, wigs, beards, mustaches, masquerade style masks, and feather boas for guests to dress up in for their photos.
Create a spooky set by using old Victorian style furniture, decorative candlelabra, skulls, or even a coffin (fake of course).
You and your guests will have lots of fun memories for years following your awesome Halloween wedding.
Classic Halloween Music
You have to play at least some of the Halloween music classics at your wedding like Monster Mash, the theme from Ghostbusters, Thriller, and The Addams Family theme song. Other fun classics include People are Strange by The Doors, and Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon.

The Little Details
It's the little things that can really make a theme come together.
Invitations set the stage for your event so make sure they showcase your Halloween wedding theme stylishly. Invitations by Dawn has an elegant selection of Halloween invitations, while Wedding Invitations Plus has a cutesy assortment of invites. Some are more suited for a child's Halloween party than a wedding but they do have a large selection to choose from with several that are quite charming. I personally love the Spellbound style and the Parliament design with owls. Invitation Consultants has a huge selection of Halloween invites- some suitable for weddings.
Location
Nothing says Halloween like a haunted location right?
Then look for the spookiest, yet most elegant place in your area that you could have your wicked wedding. In Flint, Michigan the Whaley Historical Home is an old Victorian style home- that is rumored to have a ghost or two. It's available for small, intimate weddings.
The Knot lists five haunted wedding locales that are elegant and scary including the Stanley Hotel (AKA The Shining hotel) in Colorado and the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, Massachusetts.
The Haunted Hotel Guide lists haunted locations all over the UK. Many are old castles (what could be spookier). Some are even available for weddings.
What's rumored to be haunted in your town? Would it make a great wedding location?
